There are places you stumble across that feel like they were always meant to be part of your rhythm. Larder & Vin, a providore and wine bar tucked into the heart of historic Richmond, is one of them. It’s the kind of spot where locals linger and visitors feel instantly at home — glass in hand, conversation flowing, shelves lined with stories and flavour.
From the moment you step through the doors, there’s a warmth that wraps around you. The space is honest and beautiful in that Provençal way Tasmania does so well — heritage bones, soft lighting, warm décor, and shelves thoughtfully stocked with local wine, produce, and provisions. It’s part providore, part bar, part community gathering space — all heart.
The wine list leans local and natural, with a particular focus on Tasmanian producers. Bottles are available to sip in or take home, and the staff are generous with their knowledge, guiding you toward a sparkling or chardonnay with ease.

On the food side, the menu reads like a love letter to good ingredients. Think: warm olives, creamy local cheeses, fresh bread with cultured butter, and small plates that encourage slow eating and sharing. Whether you’re perched at the window mid-afternoon with a glass of rosé and something briny, or dropping in for a late-afternoon red and something rich and earthy, the experience always feels considered — never rushed.
The space is honest and beautiful in that Provençal way Tasmania does so well.
Larder & Vin is quietly stylish, deeply connected to its region, and filled with people who care about what they’re pouring, sourcing, and serving. It’s a place to gather. To browse. To linger. To celebrate the kind of food and wine that doesn’t shout, but sings.
Whether you’re stocking a weekend cottage kitchen, meeting friends for a quiet glass, or craving a little beauty in your everyday — Larder & Vin is the place to return to, again and again.
