Through French Consul, IG @frenchconsul and my new YouTube channel, I document the real story of restoring heritage homes — from our 1830s Tasmanian cottage (as seen on ABC TV’s Grand Designs Transformations S1E6) to our current French Provincial transformation of a 1960s Sydney home. The techniques, the discoveries, and the pursuit of a life that feels genuinely beautiful.

French Consul Linen
In March 2018 we launched French Consul linen homewares, closing the doors in July 2026 after eight years of beautiful making.
Our linen pieces began in the flax fields of France and were woven with care by our heritage mill in Ireland — a proud member of the Irish Linen Guild. Our linen was MASTERS OF LINEN® and EUROPEAN FLAX® certified, and met the human-ecological requirements of the Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®, ensuring both quality and sustainability. Each product was handcrafted in Ireland. Our Totes and Madie cushion covers were made locally in Australia. Our homewares were designed in Australia by Karen Miles, owner of French Consul.
