As Seen in Country Style: Our French-Inspired Laundry

The laundry at Petit Château was never meant to be just a utility room — it was designed as a calm, light-filled space that made everyday tasks a little more joyful.

Featured in the July 2025 issue of Country Style magazine, the laundry design brings together French farmhouse charm, Tasmanian craftsmanship, and carefully chosen fittings and fixtures.

From the brass taps and deep farmhouse sink to the gentle sweep of sunlight across the bench, every detail was chosen with intention — including our French Consul Provençal Tea Towel draped beside the sink.

Here’s the complete source list below so you can recreate the look in your own home…

Sourcebook:

Paint: Shaker profile cabinets and walls colour drenched in Porter’s Paints Hailstorm. Dulux Fair Bianca on windows and ceiling.

Joinery: Solid Tas Oak frame and doors with white melamine carcass, Merritt Joinery.

Benchtop: Caesarstone benchtop and splashback in Statuaro Maximus.

Sinks & Taps: Shaws Shaker Single Sink 600mm with Antique French spout sourced via IG; Roulette Top Assembly Taps in Industrial Brass finish, Restoration Online.

Styling: French antique basket, soap and cheeseboard, The Jardin Room; Oatlands, Tas – one of my favourite stores!

Provencal Tea Towel 100% linen made with French flax and handcrafted in Ireland with navy grain sack stripe by French Consul – bien sur!

It’s a true honour to see this special place — and the story behind it — celebrated in one of Australia’s most beautiful interiors publications.

Door: Antique Federation pine door found on Marketplace – we had these dipped and stripped of their paint to bring them back to their original wood – so dreamy and perfectly imperfect.

Hardware: all door hardware from Restoration Online.
