As the year draws to a close, I’ve been thinking about the many ways our homes teach us — the subtle lessons hidden in sunlight, routines, and the corners we return to without even realising it.
This year, my home taught me more than I expected.
It taught me that a tidy corner is sometimes enough.
The whole house doesn’t need to sparkle amidst the chaos of family life — just one calm place to land can shift everything and create a moment of mental space.
It taught me that lighting really is a mood.
Warm lamps, soft candles, twinkling fairy lights, a touch of golden hour…ambience is its own kind of therapy, for sure.
It reminded me that paint is transformative.
A single shift in colour can change the feeling of your whole space…and in my case, the right exterior shade is taking me straight to Provence.
It taught me that changing one room can change how you feel.
Our bathroom renovation this year was a marathon, but it’s now a space I truly delight in. A small room transformed into a dream layout, filled with light, texture, and subtle French beauty.

My home grows when I do. It softens when I soften. It holds what the year held. They say a house becomes a home when it’s a reflection of your loves, hopes and happiness, and I truly lived that idea this year.

As I look toward 2026, I’m carrying my one constant intention with me:
More softness.
More calm.
More beauty in the everyday.
I want my home to feel like a place that’s warm, lived in, and honest.
A place that lets me and my family breathe.
A place that reminds us of what matters.
A place that makes room for joy, even on the ordinary days.
Here’s to the small lessons, the cosy corners, and the magic of making a life inside four walls.
And here’s to a beautiful new year — for all of us, and for the homes that hold us.
