A major life change, a solo trip to Paris, and a family legacy of creative women led former magazine editor, Karen Miles, to create French Consul.
One of the last things Karen’s British father asked her to do the day before he passed was to see more of the world and never give up. The one thing she searched for all over Paris and Provence, but couldn’t find, was linen cushions and tablecloths with that classic French stripe. With a long held French stripe obsession, Karen realised she’d have to make them, but also, maybe other people returning home from France with the post-Provence holiday blues would want them too.
Our linen fabric and homewares are designed by French Consul and are made from 100% linen grown in France, woven in one of the last surviving family-run linen mills in Ireland, and handsewn in Ireland and Australia.
Since our 2018 launch, French Consul has featured in some of the most beautiful homes and stays around the world.
